ARTIST RESEARCH:

Peter Blake:
Peter Blake is an artist and graphic designer from the 60's. He is famous for his work on The Beatles album cover, Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. He was one of the famous artists in the Pop Art movement. I think the Sgt Pepper album cover falls into Pop art, as it involves famous icons from the time it was made. It was most likely to be made by sticking the images of the people and objects onto a background, and built up like a collage.

John Pasche:
John Pasche started graphic design in the 1970's. He did lots of design work for, musicians and bands around that time and on wards, mostly for The Stranglers and The Rolling Stones. His most famous work is The Rolling Stones logo of the 'big red mouth'. Because of the simplicity of the design, it can be made in many ways, computer generated, painted and sewn onto clothing and accessories such as bags etc. I think the design resembles the band and the genre of music they play. The logo is very eye catching and 'in your face'.

Jamie Reid:
Jamie Reid's work is very anarchistic and are known for defining the image of Punk Rock. He is most famous for his work with Punk band the Sex Pistols. Examples of his work with the Sex Pistols are 'Never mind the bollocks here's the Sex Pistols, 'Anarchy in the UK' and 'God save the Queen'. All of which include his 'signature' type style of letters cut out from newspapers and magazines etc in the style of a ransom note. The design below represents Punk well, because people think punks of being in your face, opinionated and 'scrappy', which is how Jamie showed  Punks to others.
